Last June 13th, Dell Philippines launched the new additions to their family of laptops. With their partnership with Intel, the top brand when it comes to reliable processors, these Dell laptops surely will give us users better security and mobile computing experience.
Dell’s new laptops for 2011 aim to suit every user’s needs. From professionals who need both mobility and desktop computing to those who must have a more rugged laptop for their business needs. They even have options for the stylish laptop users out there.
Here are some of their features that were shared to us during the launch which the Dell Philippines executives are extremely proud of:
- Chiclet and spill resistant keyboards – With the chiclet design, it’s easier to type on these laptops. Plus, you no longer have to worry about accidental spills on your keyboard as they won’t get into the circuitry.
- Backlit keyboard – This option is available for those who usually work in the dark, like me.
- Enhanced fingerprint reader for added security
- Multi-gesture touchpad

Out of all the laptops they unveiled that night at Robot Restaurant and Lounge in Makati City, this is my favorite – the Dell Vostro 3000 series.
With the durability, cutting-edge design and the 12 hours of battery life (on select models), I know this one’s for me! It’s available in 13-, 14-, 15- to 17-inch forms. It’s packed with the latest Intel 2nd generation Core I Series processors.
The Dell Vostro 3000 series laptops are perfect, I say, for those who meet or communicate with people online for business, like, take for instance, virtual assistants. With the voice-enhancing technology SRS Premium Voice Pro software and a full HD webcam (except for the 13-inch), you surely would have no sound or picture quality issues for online meetings or collaborations.
For those who prefer thin laptops, then, Dell’s ultra-powerful XPS 15z is for you. It’s one of the thinnest laptops out there and is perfect for those who don’t want to lug around anything bulky.
But, even though the XPS 15z laptop is thin (0.97”), it’s full-packed with options like Intel Core i5 or Core i7 Dual Core processor, full HD WLED display, NVIDIA GeForce 525M with up to 2GB VRAM, upgradable to 8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM, and up to 8 hours of battery life.
I love its aluminum design that just screams sophistication. 🙂
For those who need enhanced security with their mobile experience, the new Dell Latitude E-series laptops are for you.
If you’re in a budget, you can opt for an E5420 or E5520 model. And for those who need a highly durable laptop, you can go for the E6220, E6320, E6420 and E6420 ATG models.
The Dell Latitude E-series laptops are equipped with better security with these features – Dell Data Protection, Remote Data Delete and Free Fall Sensor that protects against drops (Oh, I need this! :D).
Lastly, for those who don’t want their computing needs to get in the way of their fashion sense, the Dell Inspiron R series are for you.
With the SWITCH by Design Studio interchangeable lids, you can switch your Inspiron R laptop’s design with a quick pop-and-click. There are 25 new fashionable and fun lids to choose from.
Not only is this stylish, but it’s also packed with the latest 2nd generation Intel Core technology. It also boasts of up to 13 hours of battery life (whoa!) on the Inspiron 15R with the optional 9-cell battery. And this is why my bro Kenneth and I both would want to get our hands on one of this! 😀
Thank you Dell Philppines for a wonderful night of music, magic and geek love. 🙂
