Last week, my bro Ken and I (of Certified Foodies) were invited to the launch of HTC‘s latest phones that will be exclusively offered by Smart, an industry leader in telecommunications here in the Philippines as part of their partnership to bring in the most advanced smartphones to-date.
At the announcement party of the partnership between SMART and HTC in Opus Restaurant and Lounge, Resorts World, they revealed and introduced us to the new HTC smartphones that surely will satisfy any social networking or mobile internet addict out there (like us!).
Four new HTC phones were featured that star-studded night. They were the HTC Desire S, HTC Wildfire S, HTC Sensation and HTC ChaCha. All these phones and other selections offered are equipped with the unique and intuitive interface HTC Sense.
With that feature, it’s pretty easier to view your friends’ social network updates since you can all view them in one screen, the Friend Stream. They also mentioned that these phones can help you not miss any more calls. Well, that feature, I definitely need. 😀
Among all the phones revealed to us that night, we were both pretty excited about the HTC ChaCha. Why? Two words – Facebook button.
Yes! The HTC ChaCha is considered the first real Facebook phone. Why, there’s a dedicated Facebook button at the bottom of the phone. When you need to post an update on your wall, you simply press on that button and type away! Amazing, eh?! Great for Facebook addicts like me! :D Plus, it also makes checking in on Facebook Places and searching very fast and easy.
HTC ChaCha also comes with a full QWERTY keypad, something I’m not really used to before, but I’m loving it now that my next phone will definitely have that feature. It just makes typing in messages speedy, whether it is text / SMS or on the internet.
Oh, this phone has touch screen, by the way, which I totally dig. I’m currently using a touch phone so the HTC ChaCha will definitely make it easier for me to transition from a full-on touch phone to one that has a QWERTY keypad and touch screen which measures 2.6 inches.
Other features of the HTC ChaCha are the 5-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera (Oh, I miss this!), 512MB of internal RAM that can be expanded. I know this will definitely be a hit!
If you want to get your hands on an HTC ChaCha phone, you can get this for free when you subscribe to Smart Data Plan 1000 or their Unlimited Data Plan 1500. You must pre-order now, though.
